FAQ
If you have any questions that are not answered below, please contact me directly and I'll do my best to help.
Why should I press my flowers?
Wedding flowers are a once-in-a-lifetime bouquet that hold some of a couple’s most precious memories. Special flowers derserve special treatment, instead of just ending up in the bin! Also, did you know wedding flowers can account for up to 10% of a couple’s budget? Preserving them is a great way of extending the enjoyment that you get from these precious blooms
How long does it take to press a bouquet?
Approximately 16 weeks for pressing, plus flower reconstruction, layout, gluing and framing time. My timeline for completing orders fluctuates throughout the year around wedding season and my number of bookings. In peak wedding months, processing the incoming perishable bouquets takes priority, so designing and framing happen slower during this time. I aim to dispatch bridal orders within 26 weeks of receiving a bouquet, but outside of peak season it can be less than this. There is a dedicated section on this website displaying order progress updates, updated weekly.
How much does it cost?
Prices start from £75 for a mini frame. Get in touch for a tailored quote.
What frame sizes do you offer?
I offer the below frame sizes as standard, but please contact me for a quote if you have something different in mind.
30cm x 40cm
30cm x 30cm
20cm x 25cm
15cm x 10cm
I offer black and silver finishes, and the option to have your frame with or without hanging loops.
When and how do I book?
I have limited availability so recommend booking your date as early as possible, ideally alongside confirming your florist. To enquire about availability contact me here. A £95 deposit is required to secure your date, which becomes non-refundable two weeks before your booked date.
Are my flowers suitable for pressing?
Please see my Flower Guide to find out more about flowers that are most suitable for pressing.
Also, some flowers - such as some sunflower or thistle varieties- are often too thick for the Sprig & Press framing style. There is more on this in my flower guide but if in doubt, please contact me.
Will my framed flowers change or fade?
Being a product of nature, pressed flowers will gradually change and/or fade over time. Some fade, evergreens and reds can deepen, and whites can turn a darker cream colour. I use UV glass in all my work, but to slow the process further you should position your frame away from excess heat, humidity and direct light sources. With the right care, they will last for many years to come.
Will you need my entire bouquet?
Yes. Typically, some flowers in a bouquet will have already passed their best before reaching me. Others will not make it through the pressing stage, which is a natural part of the process. Having more flowers to choose from increases the overall success rate when pressing, which makes for a better end result.
How do I get my bouquet to you?
Prior to your wedding I will send a set of instructions to help you properly package your bouquet for posting, and to make sure they reach me in the best possible condition. All flowers must arrive with me within 1-3 days of your event. I ask that you only use the Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm® service to send us your flowers, as this has consistently proven to be the most reliable. If you’re local, I’m happy to accept hand-delivered bouquets on a pre-agreed date.
What happens to any leftover flowers?
Any flowers not used in the final design(s) will be packaged up and sent to you alongside your finished frame.
I'm already married. Can you recreate my bridal bouquet?
I can work with a trusted local florist to recreate your bouquet for pressing. Please get in touch to find out more about this aspect of our service.
I’m giving flowers as a gift and would like to have them pressed afterwards. Can you work with me on the arrangement?
Certainly! I’m very happy to work with you, and your florist, to help achieve a beautiful end result.
